Subject: 9 Questions for Bill Kaulitz Thu Dec 03, 2009 10:12 pm
What is it like to be a Teenie- Idol?
"We talk about this very often, yes. If we sit in the car passing by these places and we realize where we actually are now- it is for everyone a strange feeling."
What is the secret of your success?
"I don't think it can possibly be described. I wouldn't know any kind of formula, either. If people ask: How do you do that? I think you need a lot of luck- of course, but also lots of hard work- certainly. And maybe that's it. I fully concentrated on that and there is nothing else."
Are you a controll freak?
"It is extremely hard for me to let go from things. So actually I'm busy all day with controlling everything. I am also the type of guy who goes back ten times to check if the frontdoor really is locked."
Is there a life after Tokio Hotel?
"I could imagine a time when we would be less active and less working. Maybe even not publishing a new album for 2 or 3 years and not travelling so much and everyone does his own thing. But that there would be no Tokio Hotel anymore- that's hard to imagine for me."
Would you like to be an actor?
"Yes I could imagine that. Definately. But it depends on the entire team and of course on the movie. If it's a good script and a good character, I could imagine trying this. There wasn't the right offer for me, yet."
Do you get many offers for a role?
"Yes now and then I get some. But then it is usually a big role and I have to say I don't think I'm ready for this. I would rather start with something small- not such a big thing."
What role would you like to play?
"I would like to play a vampire somewhere. Or a junkie. I could imagine that, too."
Are you an artificial character?
"The make-up and the 'Bill' who sits here in front of the camera is definately closer to me than the 'Bill' who gets up at home in the morning. This isn't just a thing I do for others. I even went to school like that. This is a thing- I couldn't act like that every day. So, if I had to be an artificial character every day or create something for the people, that would be hard for me because that would be too much for me."
Does time in showbiz pass by fast or slowly?
"Both. It passes by very fast and you think 'gosh, another year has passed by and so much has happened.' but it also feels very slowly. Sometimes I think: 'Wow the day has gone by' and the next moment I think: oh god, I've been doing this like forever!'"
