Michael Jackson is dead, at least Prince is still there, "one fan said at the beer stand. In fact, in time for Jackson's first day of death itself was the other mega pop star of the 80s in Berlin's honor. Lost the one in neuroses and prescription drug addiction, then the other has, after years of crisis again found to return to music.
Led by his old companion, Sheila E. is playing the eight-member band through two hours Funk, Soul, R'n'B and Rock at its best. Prince was always an absolute focus, shone on guitar, piano, and as an excellent entertainer.
15,000 spectators came to the forest stage, and that about 7,000 seats remained empty, the audience was unimpressed. Thus it had just more room to dance! Among the spectators: The Kaulitz brothers from Tokio Hotel, Silbermond, Peter Fox, Alexandra Maria Lara and Sam Riley, Jan Delay (see picture gallery). Impressed by so much enthusiasm, the master came after two encores (of course, Kiss and Purple Rain), a third, unplanned time on the stage and chased another final number by the boxes. Berlin, funk can u? Yes we can!
