Tokio-Bill without make-up in New York

Would you have recognised rockstar Bill kaulitz ( 18 ) on this photo? The normal so glamorous singer of the band Tokio Hotel is strutting without make-up and in normal street clothes through Soho, New York. With him are his brother Tom ( 18 ) and producer and manager David Jost.

Tokio hotel are on a promotional trip through America, to promote there English album Scream (Schrei). During several shows the four German boys are celebrated by the fans, the record is on number 13 at the American I Tunes charts. Still rising.

The famous Times Square in new York is decorated with huge banners of the band, there music is going like crazy at TV music channel MTV.

“When we were driving on Times Square Thursday night , I have seen the MTV banners totally unexpected and it really frightened me”, tells Bill Kaulitz to BILD. “That is really awesome, what is happening right now here in new York. After all the cancelled US concerts I expected way less.”

Bill had to take a forced break because of his vocal cord surery for five weeks. Almost all sold out concerts had to be cancelled. Nevertheless, the success of the band in the USA is unstoppable.

Bill’s twinbrother Tom Kaulitz tells BILD: “I am so excited about the big fan turnout here. Also that we were on place 13 of the American I Tunes charts on the second day already, has completely blown me away. I don’t understand it at all though. All the US fans have already gotten our songs from Europe and over the internet and can already sing all the songs for months.”

Tom goes on: “During the last US trip three months ago I was already signing Scream cd’s that the fans got from Italy and other country’s where they ordered it. I don’t know why they would buy it again now, but it makes me happy off course.”

Today the boys are on the US talkshow “Conan O’Brian”. Sunday they will give a big concert in Los Angeles.

Tokio Hotel have got the wind in there backs and can make it in America to big superstars!

I can’t get over it, I’ve never seen Bill [18] look so casual like in this photo.

Outfit: Normal (t-shirt, jeans, college jacket, sunglasses). Escort: Common (Brother Tom, producer David Jost). Hair: Jippieh! (I am happy not seeing the – hedgehod – I put my finger in a socket hairdo). Seems really cool, the boy. I can’t see the darkened eyes, finally a human look. I really like it.

After taking a better look and comparing the photos from stage Bill and Private Bill I wonder: Does Bill wear a wig when he is on stage? Yes, yes, I know, it’s a hairdo from Magdeburg and so, flick up, colouring and ready is the Kill-Bill, but I am kinda insecure. Admitted, he is wearing it down, that’s clear.

But beneath that base cap it doesn’t look like that big do – “Tokio Hotel” is moving on in New York, working there way down the list. Today a interview with Rolling Stone magazine, tomorrow the late night show “Conan O’Brien”, and Sunday a flight to L.A., on the 13th a concert in “Avalon” in Hollywood, on the 14th on to Canada, Toronto, Montreal. The first German concert since the surgery of Bill will be on the 13th of June in Westfallenhalle.

Update on Bill’s vocal condition: “Pleasant again, nevertheless, we are still closely watching it, that Bill will take his rest”, writes Jost to me.

they don'y put conan on showcomedy. i always watch it! this put another talkshow/funny news thingi called the daily show smthn!!
