| Will they be the new beatles?
Triumph by the American MTV Awards Tokio Hotel – Will they be the new Beatles? What a surprise: Our boys from Tokio Hotel won the MTV Video Awards for best Newcomer last night in Los Angeles. Before the show front man Bill modestly said: “We don’t believe we will win, but it is a big honor to be nominated here in America”. His prognosis was wrong, Tokio Hotel won the prize. Will they now be internationally as famous as the Beatles? Bill [19], Tom [19], Gustav [20] and Georg [21] are definitely on the best way getting there. The four Magdeburgers were the only foreign band at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards and were twice nominated: In the category “Best pop video” and “Best Newcomer”. In the category Best pop video they lost to Britney spears [”Piece of me”], nevertheless, in the category Best Newcomer Tokio Hotel got the desired “Moonman” – beating big competition from the US such as Miley Cyrus and Kate Perry [I kissed a girl]. Tokio Hotel was voted mostly from US fans - A sign that the four boys have finally made it in the land of the unlimited possibilities. Will Tokio Hotel become world stars like the British band the Beatles from back then? Everywhere where Tokio Hotel shows up, the fans go crazy and pass out one after another. A hysteria like the one in the sixties during the Beatles. Doesn’t matter if it is France, Poland, Austria, Israel, and Canada or now America – The Tokio Hotel fascination is rolling all over the world. Fans all over the world copy their style and become versions of Bill, dye their hair black, poof up their hair like him and paint their eyes black. Or they let dreads grow just like his twin brother Tom. Also Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Georg Harrison and Ringo Starr, the “Fab Four” from Liverpool made a revolution happen in the swinging sixties when it comes to hair: Everyone wanted the same “Mushroom do” hairstyle that made them famous. Regardless how much Paris or New York wants Tokio Hotel – hopefully Bill and co. will never not leave out their home country…
