According to Bild.de, Gustav has had an operation for appendicitis...:

What happened? "Jan. 2 in the morning rose Gustav with extreme abdominal pain," said his manager David Jost to BILD. "The run on the pain is still worsening." He was brought to the university clinic with the suspicion of appendicitis! Manager Jost: "The operation lasted exactly one hour and turned out well." Gustav could be released on Monday from the clinic and needs two weeks rest.
