-He's Bill! And i'm Lely and... i'm not sure do we go together.
Karla : Okay, i don't understand you at all – she made a weird face and continued – but come on. He loves you, you love him, isn't that enough?
-Sometimes not.
Karla : Lely, i just wanna help you. I want you to be happy. and with him – you're happy.
-I gotta give myself a chance without him.
Karla : No! I won't let you do that to yourself.
-Karla, please, let me do it my way this time.

She stepped back, nodded her head like she was disappointed in me and left.
-Karla! – i yelled for her, but she didn't turn.

I protrude in Tom's room. Nobody was there.
I came in.

Tom : Lely...
-Hi – i came to his bed and took his hand.
Tom : It's nice to see you.
-You're awake. That's great.
Tom : Yeah...
-How do you feel?
Tom : I'm... – he moaned.
-What's wrong? Do you want me to call the nurse?
Tom : No, no, it's okay. Just... my back hurt. And legs... and my everything – he smiled.
-Ohh – i tried to smile back.

Tom : Well, Bill went home to pick some stuff for me. He'll be back soon.
-No, i'm not looking for him.
Tom : Then?
-Can't i just come to see how are you? After all, you are the one who had an accident.
Tom : Hehe, sorry then. I'm okay. Holding on.
-When will you be able to go home?
Tom : I don't know yet. I broke my left leg, right arm and 2 ribs. It will take some time to heal.

-Yeah... So where is Karla? I thought she was with you.

-Well, i should probably go now. Visiting hours finished.

Bill : How? By us pretending we got back together? I don't think so.

~ 56TH CHAPTER ~

Do you think it's possible to love... again? After you lost the one you gave your heart to. After you promised yourself and the one there's noone else? After your heart's been broken into pieces? After everything you've been through with the one? After... Is it possible to love more persons the same way?
Because i knew my heart did, still does and always will belong to him. Even though he... left me the first time. I still remembered that. But i also remembered his eyes when i saw him the first time after that. I wanted to forgive him. And i did. I couldn't live without him. As i said, he was the one. He still is.
But he hurt me again. When i though he cheated on me. I could have believed him. I could have forgiven him. And maybe i should have.
Maybe it wouldn't be like this then. Maybe i'd still be happy. And maybe he would be happy with me, too.
So why didn't i?
I turned my back to everyone i actually cared about. Bill, Karla...
I wanted to be with them again. I needed to be with them again.
So why was so hard to say 'i'm sorry'?
Maybe because i'd betray myself then. Karla should have been with me. Through everything. And Bill... okay, maybe, after all, it was my mistake. I should have forgiven when he apologized, when he explained everything.
Why was i so stubborn?
And everything seemed wrong now...

Natasha : Uhh, Lely, i can't breath.
-You're just nervous. Think about... Carl. In a few minutes, you will officialy be only his. And he'll be yours. And there will be nobody who will separate you two.
Natasha : Uff...
-Breath – i held her.

'It's time!' – her mom came into the bride's room.
-Okay, it's time, Natasha. Are you ready?
Natasha : I'm ready – she looked into my eyes and smiled – thank you, you're so good with this. I feel much better. Thanks.
-Sure.

Her dad took her hand.
Other bridesmaids and i went first. The church was beautiful, everything was white-purple. There was like a hundred people, everybody seemed proud.
I saw Carl, Natasha's fiancé, standing in front of the altar. He looked nice in a suit. You could have seen happiness on his face. He was a lucky man.
I looked around the church, trying to find Bill. I didn't see him. I felt sad. I was hoping i'd see him here, but i got disappointed. I really wanted to talk to him. I missed him.

Natasha : I do – Natasha repeated and they kissed.
Everybody was clapping.

Natasha : Thank you, Lely! – i heard her yelling through the crowd.
I looked at her and smiled.

'Hi, i'm Ammy' – somebody said behind me.
I turned and saw one girl in the same dress as me.
-Hi. Lely – we shook.
Ammy : Nice to meet you – she sat next to me.
-Me too.
We were in a restaurant now, celebrating.
Ammy : Umm, we're sitting at the same table, i think.
-Oh. Cool. Well at least i'll know somebody now.
Ammy : Hehe yes. I actually though it would be boring.
-Me too. I know like zero persons here – we both laughed.
Ammy : So you know Natasha for a long time?
-Not really. She was my... ex' friend.
Ammy : Your ex'?
-Aha. We kinda broke up.
Ammy : Kinda?
-Well long story short – i still want him, but... emm, it's complicated and not really important.
Ammy : Ahaa. Okay, hehe.
-And you? You know her since when?
Ammy : She's my cousin. But all my family members are kind of dumb.
-Uuu, how nice. I bet this is a great happening to you, a? – i winkled and laughed with her.
Ammy : Haha, yeah. It's so freaking awesome – she said it sarcasticly.
-Hehe. So you were also a bridesmaid?
Ammy : Yes. You too? Oh, i knew you seemed familiar.
-We have the same dresses.
Ammy : They are nice, aren't they? Dresses, i mean. Hehehe.

Ammy : So, have you seen any cute boy here? I can introduce you to some if you want. That one in the corner that's leaned on the wall – his name is Jeydon. He's 22. That guy in a grey suit with a beer in his hand is Marc. He's... okay guy.
-Okay guy?
Ammy : Well, he was in a prison for 48 hours because.. he drove drunk.
-Ow. Well i don't need somebody who will kill me while driving a car. So i gotta say 'next'.
Ammy : Haha good decision. So, that one that's dancing with that old woman, which is, by the way, my mom, is-
-Who's that? – i interrupted her and showed on one tall guy who was dancing with the bride.
Ammy : Ow. That is Eric and he is...
-Totally gorgeous!
Ammy : Haha slow down, girl!
-Could you introduce me with him? Pleaseee.
Ammy : Well, ok. If you insist.
-Oh yeaaah.
Ammy : Lely, your eyes are...
-Uh, i'm looking like ' i want him now ' way?

She took my hand and took me to Eric.

'A?' – he turned.

Ammy : dumb-head – she whispered for Natasha.
I laughed.
Ammy : Eric, this is my new friend Lely.
Eric : Hey, Lely – he took my hand and kissed her.
Ammy : Oh, come on! That doesn't work anymore.
Eric : Oh yes, it does.
Ammy : Lely, tell him you would never ever fall for that. Tell him!
-Emm...
Ammy : You would!? – she looked at me with eyes wide opened.
- I just like sweet and gentle guys.
Ammy : But hand kissing...?
-Haha it was kinda oldish, but cute.
Ammy : But oldish!
Eric : Go away, Ammy!
Ammy : Hey!
Eric : You introduced us. But we don't need you anymore.
Ammy : Okay, okay. I'm going.

Ammy : Be careful – she whispered in my ear before she left me with Eric.
I giggled.
Eric : So, Lely, i haven't seen you before. Are you like some new family member?
-Hehe no, actually. Natasha is my friend, kind of.
Eric : Kind of?
We were walking in front of the restaurant now. Passing underneath the trees.
-Well, she was more like my ex' friend.
Eric : Mhm. Your ex'? So you're like single now?
-I'm like single now, yes – we both smiled to each other.
Eric : That's good. Not for you, of course.
-Is it for you? – i tried to flert with him.
Eric : Well... – he looked around and then smiled.
-Hehe okay – i nodded.

Eric : Are you cold? I mean i took you out and you're wearing only a dress. It's like freezing.
-It's November, we should have expected that.
Eric : Haha true. Here, take my jacket – he put his suit on me and put his hand around my shoulders.
I blushed – Thanks.
Eric : So what happened with you and your ex?
-Uff. It is... something i really don't wanna talk about. Please.
Eric : Sure, of course. Sorry.
-How old are you?
Eric : 18. You?
-You're... 18?
Eric : Yes. Is that a problem? – he looked at me disappointed.

-Hehe – i looked away again.
I saw Natasha with him. I felt Bill's eyes on me. He was looking at me confused from the distance. He just arrived and... guess this was a shock.

Eric stood in front of me, intercepting my look on Bill.
Eric : Well, this was really interesting Lely. I'm glad we started like this.
-Aha, yeah... – i was trying to look over his shoulder.
Eric : So, what are you doing tomorrow night?
-Why?
Eric : Well you said... about that date... Lely, are you listening to me?
-What? Of course. I'd like to go out with you... tomorrow night.
He put his hand on my cheek and made me look straight at him.
Eric : Could you at least pretend you're listening to me? it's obvious something else is attracting your attention.
-Oh, Eric, i'm so sorry. I admit, i didn't actually listen to you. I'm sorry.
Eric : It's okay. You wanna go?
-Where?
Eric : I see Natasha is there with some dude who's obviously staring at you so i guess you know him. If you wanna go over there and say hi or stay with him... i'd understand.
-No, Eric, no. I'm glad to be here with you. You seem like a nice guy. I wanna get to know you better. So let's just go somewhere else and talk about things you like. Maybe we have some things in common.
He smiled – Eric : I'm glad you want that. It would actually hurt me if you actually went there.
-But i'm still here.
He smiled again and slowly moved his hand from my cheek to my hand and took it into his.
Eric : Let's go.
-Sure – i smiled and we started walking under those gorgeously decorated trees.

Eric : So who was that? That guy with my cousin?
-Emm, that was actually my ex.
Eric : Ow – he looked down – don't you wanna like talk to him or something?
-Honestly?
Eric : Should i be scared now? – he curiously looked at me.
-Hehe i don't know.
Eric : Okay, tell me.
-Well, honestly, yes, i still love him. And...
Eric : She still loves him.. – i heard him whispered.
-Hehe. Well i know him for almost a year. Since the first day i felt something between us that was indescribable. We had some fights and things... that have happened. But we got through all that. And even though he loved me with his whole heart, i said no.
Eric : You said no? To what?
-To him. To his love. To our common future – i sigh.
Eric : I guess it's pretty hard for you to talk about that.
-Mhmm. But i bet it's even harder for you to listen about that – i made a weird face and we both laughed.
Eric : Haha i'm okay. For now. Even though, you did scare me a little bit.
-Really? Which part scared you?
Eric : A part where you said no. When you... you actually left the man who loved you? The one you loved?
-That is scary, i agree. I never thought i would do that.
Eric : Then why did you?
-I though he cheated on me. it was hard to accept... something else as a possible fact.
Eric : You didn't trust him a lot then.
-I was a jerk.
Eric : I'm sorry that happened to you.
-Don't be – i looked at him – if that didn't happen, we probably wouldn't meet – and then i looked at our hands holding – this is also nice. Thanks for not running away.
Eric : Why would i run away?
-i'm kinda boring with my stupid love story.
Eric : It's okay. I asked you to tell me more about that, so don't worry. Just don't leave now. Don't leave me.
-I'm willing to give it a chance.

The night passed by fastly. We were walking through the park most of the time. He told me his life story, that Ammy is actually his sister. I knew they looked kind of similar to each other.
So i felt comfortable again. After a long time i actually got a feeling like somehting could actually be between me and some other guy than Bill.
I didn't even think about Bill for a few hours, after we stopped talking about him.
Finally, my heart seemed like healing, piece by piece.
Knew it won't heal entirely, but a feeling of being full and unbroken made me happy. So why shouldn't i give it a chance?
Maybe Bill wasn't my only source of happiness. Maybe there was life after him. Maybe my heart could beat normally again. Maybe misery wasn't only that's been lefted to me.

Ammy was standing outside, in front of the restaurant. Smiling and dancing by her own.
She waved when she saw us coming.
Ammy : Yay! You two are back.
Eric : We got hungry.
Ammy : Then hurry. They are about to cut the cake.
Eric : Great.
-Oh, i gotta talk to Ammy. You go, i'll come in a few seconds.
Eric : Don't go away. I'll be waiting for you.
-Of course i won't.
He went and left me alone with Ammy.
Ammy : Soooo, tell me everything.
-Remember that ex i was telling you about?
Ammy : Aha.
-I saw him. He was outside with Natasha. I thought i would cry, but then i kissed Eric.
Ammy : Aaaa!!! That's awesome. My new best friend is dating my brother. Woah! A real soap opera – she started giggling.
-But!
Ammy : Oh, there's 'but'.
-Yeah. I think i did it just to make my ex jealous.
Ammy : Lely, please don't hurt my younger brother. He doesn't have much experience with dating and all that relationship stuff and i think he actually likes you. You two could be a great couple.
-Ammy, i'm not sure... do i really like him. He is nice and everything but... i still love my ex.
Ammy : I get it, i get it. But you should give it a chance. And i'll tell him not to expect much, okay? That's the best i can do.
-Thank you.

We walked in. It was really loud and the music was playing.
Eric : You're here – he came to me and hugged me from the back.
-I'm here – i smiled.
Eric : Would you like to dance?
-Oww. Okay, why not.
He took my right hand and i put my left on his shoulder. We started moving in the rhythm.
-Hehe you know how to dance?
Eric : Well, when you live with an older sister, mom and a grandma, without a father, you gotta learn.
-Uuu.
Then he spinned me around the dance floor.
-I think everybody is looking at us – i hid my head by putting it onto his chest.
Eric : Especially your ex – he said kinda tensely.
-A?
Eric : He's staring at us. I think he's jealous. Damn, i'm good! – he laughed at himself.
-Oh.
Eric : Don't you wanna see his face?
-I don't know...
Eric : Oh, sorry, i made you cry – he wiped away my tears with his fingers.
-What? – my tears ran down my face not even knowing.

'May i steal her for a second?' – the familiar voice asked.
Eric : Lely?
I was hiding my face on Eric's chest again.
'Lely, i'd like to talk to you.'
I realized we stopped dancing and Eric shook hands with Bill. But he was still holding his left hand around me, like he was trying to protect me.
'I'm Bill.'
Eric : Eric – their voices were strong.
Bill : Lely, would you please talk to me?

Bill : Everytime i wanna talk to you, you refuse. And opposite.
-Because we both always find a bad moment.
Bill : Is this a bad moment, really? – i heard curiousity in his voice.
I needed to see his face, what was he thinking about? What did he want to talk about? Why? Why now?
I thought he didn't want to see or hear about me.
-Yes. I'm kinda dancing with somebody.
He taunted – Bill : You're more like hiding your face away from me.
Eric : Dude, let go a little bit. If she doesn't want to talk, then chill.
-Khm, it's okay – i finally showed up my face, still looking into Eric's wet chest.
Eric : You're still crying, honey – he wiped the water away and kissed my forehead.
-Thanks, i'm better – i tried to smile.

Bill : So... you two love cats... – he laughed at his own joke – are you done?
I sarcasticly looked at him – What do you want?
Bill : I just wanna talk to you.
-I thought you don't like me anymore.
Bill : Mmm – he thinked for a moment – something like that. But i think i still have the right to talk to you.
-Okay, fine. Let's just do it.
Bill : That sounded dirty – he winkled.
-Shut up – i rolled my eyes, crossed arms and started walking to the front door so we could go outside and talk.
Eric : I'll be at our table – he said behind us.
I turned my head and smiled to him.

We were standing in front of each other, in silence.
-So? – i was looking down at my feet.
Bill : How are you?
-Ha! – i looked at him morbid – Really? You are asking how am i?
Bill : I guess.
-What do you expect from me? To tell you that i'm great and awesome now, that i feel free without you, that i moved on? Or do you want to hear me saying 'please come back'?
Bill : I don't know. I just asked how are you. I only expected 'good' or 'bad'. Not the whole bible – he smiled that gorgeous, beautiful smile i used to love.
-Ok.
Bill : Ok?
-I'm ok – i rolled my eyes once again.
Bill : And you look ok.
-It is because i feel ok – okay, i had no idea what was i trying to say with that, he got me confused.
He looked at me weird – Bill : Hhh, okay.
-Ok.
Bill : O.k.
-So what now? Are we really just gonna stand here and continue saying 'ok'?
Bill : I just wanted to talk to you. 'cause honestly... i do miss you, Lely. I don't know why... we had those stupid fights. We could have been together now.
-I'm actually with Eric... now – i felt kinda bad.
Bill : Oh...
-I mean we're not in a relationship, but i think...
Bill : Ok, wait, just stop for a second. What are you trying to do now? Make me jealous? Because if you are then it's working. But Lely, he's a 18 years old kid, all he thinks about is sex and... i think he could hurt you.
My mouth opened 'cause of a shock – You think he's a horny teenager? You're nothing better than him. You're like two years older, but that doesn't make you look better and experienced.
Bill : I'm just worried about you.
-You don't have that right anymore. You shouldn't and couldn't be worried about me. We're past, as you said.
Bill : Do you really think i would be here now if i didn't care about you anymore? Do you really think i would ask you how are you if i didn't hope you'd actually say 'please come back'?

We were just standing and looking at each other for one long moment.
I loosen a little bit, i put my hands down, along with my body.
-So what now?
Bill : Could we like... talk it out?
-Bill, we had so many fights and brake ups. I'm fed up with that.
Bill : Just look into my eyes.
-No... – i crossed my arms again and looked away.
He came closer and put his hands on my shoulders – Bill : Look at me, Lely. Look into my eyes. And tell me what do you see?
-We've already been through this. Lots of times.
Bill : And what happened everytime? We got back together.
-But i don't wanna brake up with you again. I don't want us apart once again. I don't wanna be far away from you again. It's been enough.
Bill : Then don't! Everything could be like it used to be. Just say 'please come back'. That's all you need to do.
-I'm not sure can i.
Bill : Lely, just say 'please come back'.
I looked into his eyes. I remembered the good old times, him holding me into his arms. I saw everything in his eyes. Those two deep brown oceans of happiness, protection and security.
Then he smiled when he saw me finally looking at him. I remembered his soft and warm lips. How he used to be mine. And i was only his.
And all this time, i wanted him back. I wanted to be his again. I wanted to be wrapped in his arms, he would never let go.
And like my dreams became a reality. Again. All these weeks, the memory of him was filling me, it was keeping me alive.
So today, i finally found a person who could maybe complete that empty space in my heart.
But he's here now. Bill's here. And he could heal my heart once and forever. I could breath again. I could have sweet dreams.
So what am i waiting for? He's here now...

Bill : Breath, Lely.
His voice disrupt my thoughts and i took a deep breath. I didn't even notice i stopped breathing.
Bill : So?
-Are you... sure about this?
Bill : I have never been more sure about anything – he passed with his hand all over my face, touched my cheeks, lips.
-I can't do it like this.
He tugged and stepped back – Bill : Oh.
He turned and started walking away.
-Bill... – i tried to reach for him with my hand.
But he didn't turn. He continued walking away.
Then i started running to the opposite way, into the restaurant.
-I'm sorry. I'm sorry – i was apologizing while running through the crowd – Eh, space, please.
I ran on the stage and took the microphone.
A singer looked weird at me and tried to stop me – A singer : Hey, what are you doing?
But i just yelled in a microphone : Please come back!
People on the dance floor confusedly turned to the stage.
I heard Natasha saying – Natasha : Lely, what are you doing? – i couldn't see was she mad or only confused.
-Please come back! – i said one more time.
But he didn't appear.
-Please... come back – i said it more quiet this time and layed down my look.
Nobody said a word. Everybody was looking at me in a confusion.
Then i looked at Natasha and apologized – Natasha, umm, i'm sorry. I tried to call-
'...me back' – he ended my sentence.
I turned and saw him standing on the stage.
Bill : I heard you. Thanks for letting me in in your life again – he smiled his wonderful smile.
